Quick Summary

The OPPO A6 Pro 5G is a mid-range smartphone that combines a 7,000 mAh battery, 80W SUPERVOOC charging and a triple IP66, IP68 and IP69 rating with the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. It has a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD with up to 120 Hz refresh rate, a 50 MP main camera and a 16 MP front camera. It is sold with 8 GB RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB storage, and current shop listings are around Rs 32,999 and Rs 34,999. The phone's strengths are battery, charging speed and durability, while its HD+ screen, 1080p-only video and a modest chipset make the price the main question for buyers.

Design & Build Quality

The A6 Pro measures about 166.6 x 78.5 x 8.6 mm and weighs about 216 g, so it is a large and fairly heavy phone, as expected with a 7,000 mAh battery. The screen-to-body ratio of 90.6% keeps the front reasonably tidy. It comes in two colours, Aurora Gold and Cappuccino Brown.

Durability is the highlight. OPPO lists IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings together, which covers dust, strong water jets, immersion and high-temperature water jets. In daily Indian use this means better protection from monsoon rain, kitchen splashes, dusty roads and a rinse under a tap. These ratings are tested in controlled conditions with fresh water, and seals can weaken with age, so treat them as a strong safety margin rather than a promise for every situation.

The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted, and facial recognition is available as an additional way to unlock. The box includes the phone, a charger, a USB data cable and a SIM ejector tool.

Display

The display is a 6.75-inch LCD with HD+ resolution (1570 x 720 pixels) and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The high refresh rate helps scrolling, animations and games feel smooth. Brightness is listed as 900 nits typical in normal use and up to 1,125 nits at its highest, and Outdoor Mode 2.0 is meant to help visibility under bright sunlight. GloveTouch keeps the screen responsive with gloves on.

The weak point is sharpness. HD+ on a 6.75-inch screen is noticeably softer than the Full HD+ panels found on many phones around this price, and fine text and detailed video can look less crisp. The panel is an LCD, so you should not expect the deep blacks of an AMOLED screen. For basic browsing, messaging and video calls it is fine, but it is a clear compromise for people who watch a lot of video.

Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 is an octa-core entry-level 5G chipset. It is well suited to calling, messaging, social media, payments, streaming and light to moderate gaming, but it is not meant for demanding games at high settings. The phone has 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM with RAM expansion support, and UFS 2.2 storage in 128 GB and 256 GB options. UFS 2.2 gives reasonable app-loading speeds, though it is not as fast as the newer UFS 3.1 used in some higher-priced phones.

OPPO fits a SuperCool VC system with a 3,900 mm² vapor chamber. Together with AI GameBoost 2.0 and AI LinkBoost 3.0, this should help keep performance steady during longer sessions of gaming or video calls. The company also states a 60-month fluency protection for the 256 GB storage options, which is a manufacturer claim and should be seen as a promise of long-term smoothness rather than a tested result.

Camera

The rear camera pairs a 50 MP main sensor (f/1.8) with a 2 MP monochrome camera, and the front camera is 16 MP (f/2.4). The monochrome sensor adds very little for everyday photography, so the main sensor does almost all the work. There is no ultra-wide or telephoto lens, which limits group shots in tight spaces and distant subjects.

Software features include Portrait mode, AI Night mode, underwater photography, AI Eraser 2.0 and AI Portrait Retouching. The underwater mode fits well with the IP68 and IP69 ratings. Video recording is limited to 1080p at 30 or 60 fps, so there is no 4K recording. Daylight photos from the main camera should be usable, while low-light quality and consistency are areas where phones with this class of chipset and sensor usually need checking in a store before purchase.

Battery & Charging

The 7,000 mAh battery (typical; rated at 6,830 mAh) is the main reason to look at this phone. Combined with an efficient chipset and a 120 Hz-capable LCD, it should comfortably last a full day of heavy use, and often into a second day with moderate use. Charging is up to 80W SUPERVOOC, and OPPO claims a full charge in about 64 minutes and about 54% in 30 minutes starting from 1%. For a battery this large, those speeds are impressive and save real time on busy days. A charger is included in the box.

Reverse wired charging is also supported, so the phone can top up earbuds, a smartwatch or another phone through a Type-C cable in an emergency.

Software

The phone runs ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. ColorOS offers many customisation options and useful tools, along with Theft Protection.

Connectivity

The phone supports 5G with dual nano-SIM, Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.4 and a Type-C USB port. Wi-Fi 5 is a generation behind the Wi-Fi 6 found on some rivals, but it is enough for most home broadband connections.

Audio

Dual stereo speakers with up to 300% extra volume are included. Stereo output is a real advantage for videos, games and speakerphone calls, and gives fuller sound than a single speaker.

Features Assessment

The most useful features here are the large battery, the very fast charging, the triple IP rating, the vapor chamber cooling and the stereo speakers. The AI camera tools such as AI Eraser are handy but not unique. The 2 MP monochrome camera and facial recognition add little value. The main gaps are an HD+ display, no 4K video and a modest chipset.

Ease of Use

Setup is simple, and the side fingerprint sensor with face unlock gives quick access. The phone is large and heavy at about 216 g, which some people will notice during long one-handed use. GloveTouch and Outdoor Mode 2.0 are practical touches for Indian outdoor use.

Value for Money

The phone launched in January 2026 at Rs 21,999 for the 8 GB and 128 GB model and Rs 23,999 for the 8 GB and 256 GB model. Current listings on the main shopping sites show about Rs 32,999 and Rs 34,999. At the launch price, the combination of battery, charging and durability looked strong for the money. At the higher current price, an HD+ LCD and an entry-level chipset are harder to justify, and buyers should compare other phones near Rs 30,000 that offer a sharper display or a stronger processor. The warranty is one year on the device and six months on in-box accessories. Prices change often, so check the latest price before deciding.

Who Should Buy It?

  • Heavy users, commuters and students who want a battery that lasts more than a day and very quick top-ups.
  • People who work outdoors or live in rainy or dusty areas and want IP66, IP68 and IP69 protection.
  • Buyers whose main uses are calls, messaging, social media, payments and video streaming rather than heavy gaming.
  • Anyone who finds a good deal near the launch price band.

Who Should Consider Alternatives?

  • Video watchers who want a sharper screen should look at Full HD+ or AMOLED options.
  • Photography and videography users who need 4K video or an ultra-wide camera should compare other phones.
  • Gamers who want a stronger chipset for demanding games should check higher-performance processors.
  • Buyers who want Wi-Fi 6 should look at other models.
  • Anyone who prefers a lighter, compact phone should consider a smaller device.

Pros

  • Large 7,000 mAh battery with 80W SUPERVOOC charging and a claimed full charge in about 64 minutes
  • Triple IP66, IP68 and IP69 dust and water protection
  • 120 Hz refresh rate with up to 1,125 nits brightness and GloveTouch
  • Vapor chamber cooling for steadier performance
  • Dual stereo speakers with up to 300% extra volume
  • 50 MP main camera with a useful set of AI photo tools
  • Reverse wired charging

Cons

  • HD+ LCD display looks less sharp than Full HD+ panels
  • Entry-level Dimensity 6300 chipset and UFS 2.2 storage
  • Video recording limited to 1080p, with no ultra-wide lens and only a 2 MP monochrome second camera
  • Heavy at about 216 g
  • Current price is well above the launch price, which weakens the value case
  • Wi-Fi 5 only, a generation behind Wi-Fi 6

Editorial Verdict

The OPPO A6 Pro 5G is a battery-first phone. Its 7,000 mAh cell, 80W SUPERVOOC charging and triple IP66, IP68 and IP69 rating make it very practical for people who want a phone that lasts long, charges quickly and survives rain, dust and splashes. The vapor chamber cooling and stereo speakers add useful touches, and ColorOS 15 offers a feature-rich experience.

The compromises are equally clear. The HD+ LCD is softer than the Full HD+ screens many rivals offer, the Dimensity 6300 is an entry-level chipset, video stops at 1080p, and the second camera is a 2 MP monochrome unit that adds little. The phone is also large and heavy at about 216 g.

Price decides how good a choice this is. At the January launch prices of Rs 21,999 and Rs 23,999 it was a sensible battery and durability phone. At current listings around Rs 32,999 and Rs 34,999, you should compare it with other phones in the same range that offer a sharper display or stronger performance. If battery life and toughness are your top priorities and you find it at a fair price, it remains a dependable everyday phone.
