The ViewSonic VG2408 is a monitor for people who actually work at their desk.
See full rating breakdown →Quick Summary
The ViewSonic VG2408 is a 24-inch Full HD IPS monitor built for people who sit at a desk all day. It is not the cheapest 24-inch screen you can buy, and it does not need to be. The stand lifts, tilts, swivels and rotates into portrait, there is a USB hub for your keyboard and pen drive, and DisplayPort sits next to HDMI and VGA. At about ₹11,400 it costs much more than a basic 24-inch monitor, but it fixes the things that basic monitors get wrong: posture, ports and cable clutter.
Design & Build Quality
The VG2408 looks like an office monitor, and that is a compliment. The slim-bezel IPS screen sits on a sturdy base, and the stand is the real story. Height adjusts by 130 mm, the screen tilts forward and back, swivels all the way round and turns 90 degrees either way into portrait. That means you can bring the top edge of the screen to eye level on any desk, which matters far more over a long working day than any extra pixel. Portrait mode is handy for reading long documents, coding or scrolling through a spreadsheet.
At 5.2 kg with the stand, it feels solid rather than flimsy, and the cable organiser at the back keeps the HDMI, USB and power leads from hanging loose. The power supply is built in, so there is no adapter brick to hide under the table. The anti-glare surface helps in a bright Indian room, though the panel itself is not especially bright at 250 nits.
Display Quality
This is a SuperClear IPS panel with 178-degree viewing angles, so colours and contrast hold up whether you sit square-on or share the screen with a colleague. At 24 inches, Full HD is sharp enough for documents and web work without making text tiny. sRGB coverage is high, which gives everyday photos, presentations and video a natural look. The panel is meant for work, not for professional colour grading, and ViewSonic positions it that way.
Brightness at 250 nits is adequate for normal rooms. If your desk sits opposite a bright window, you will want curtains or a slightly darker corner, since there is no extra brightness to fight sunlight.
Smoothness & Everyday Use
The 100 Hz refresh rate gives scrolling and window movement a smoother feel than a standard 60 Hz office screen, and Variable Refresh Rate support helps keep motion neat. The 5 ms response time is fine for office work, video and casual gaming; competitive players will want a faster, gaming-first panel. Some shops list it among gaming monitors, but this one is built for productivity and general use, where its stand and ports matter more than raw speed.
Eye Comfort
ViewSonic calls its comfort package Eye ProTech+, which combines a flicker-free backlight with a hardware low blue light solution. Because the low blue light is a hardware solution rather than a software filter, it is part of the screen itself. For a student or office worker looking at the screen for most of the day, this is a feature you benefit from silently.
Connectivity & Audio
Here the VG2408 pulls well ahead of simpler monitors. You get HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.2 and VGA for video, plus a USB 3.2 hub with one upstream and two downstream ports, so a single cable to your laptop or PC can serve a keyboard, mouse or pen drive. There is a 3.5 mm audio out for headphones. Two 2 W speakers are built in; they are fine for video calls and system sounds, but not for music you care about. There is no USB-C input, so a thin laptop that only offers USB-C will need an adapter or dock.
Features Assessment
Every feature on this monitor does a practical job: the height-adjustable stand, USB hub, flicker-free backlight, Eco Mode and cable organiser. None of them is flashy, and none of them is wasted. HDR and high-end colour modes are missing, but at this price and for this audience, that is a sensible trade-off.
Ease of Use
The monitor uses five physical keys for its on-screen menu, which covers input selection, audio, ViewMode, colour and image settings. It is certified for Windows 10 and 11 and tested with macOS, so it works without any driver hunt. Setting the height and angle takes seconds, and the quick start guide in the box covers the basics.
Value for Money
At around ₹11,390 on Amazon.in and Flipkart at the time of writing, the VG2408 is priced above basic 24-inch monitors. What you pay for is the height-adjustable pivoting stand, DisplayPort, a USB hub and built-in speakers, plus a three-year warranty. If you use a monitor for six to eight hours a day, those are the features that decide comfort. If you only need a second screen for occasional use, a cheaper fixed-stand model is enough.
Who Should Buy It?
Office workers, students, programmers, writers and small businesses that spend long hours at a screen will get the most from the VG2408. It also suits shared desks, where height and angle need adjusting often, and users who connect a laptop and need USB ports on the monitor.
Who Should Consider Alternatives?
If you only need a budget screen for light use, a basic 24-inch IPS monitor costs much less. Gamers who want 144 Hz or more, photographers who need wide colour coverage and anyone who wants to connect through USB-C should look at specialised models.

Editorial Verdict
The ViewSonic VG2408 is a monitor for people who actually work at their desk. The IPS panel is clean and comfortable, the Full HD resolution suits a 24-inch screen well, and the 100 Hz refresh rate adds a pleasant smoothness to everyday use. What sets it apart from cheaper rivals is everything around the panel: a stand that raises, tilts, swivels and rotates into portrait, a built-in USB hub, DisplayPort alongside HDMI and VGA, and a flicker-free backlight with hardware low blue light. A three-year warranty adds confidence. It is not a colour-grading or competitive gaming display, brightness is average, and there is no USB-C input, so users with slim modern laptops may need an adapter. For anyone who spends long hours on a computer and cares about posture and tidy connections, it is a thoughtful, dependable buy. If you only need a basic second screen, saving money with a simpler model is the better move.
