Quick Summary

The realme P3x 5G is realme's tough, long-lasting mid-budget 5G phone, and it is one of the rare phones at this price with an IP69 rating. A 6,000 mAh battery, 45 W charging and a bright 120 Hz Full HD+ screen make it a strong everyday phone, and the box even includes a charger and a case. The camera is only average and the chip is built for steady use, not for heavy gaming. At about Rs 12,999 for the 6 GB + 128 GB version, it gives a lot for the money. One thing to know: realme has marked it as discontinued on its own store, so you will find it only through shops.

Design & Build Quality

This is a well-built phone for the price. At 7.94 mm and 197 g, it carries a 6,000 mAh battery without feeling bulky, and the vegan-leather back gives it a better grip and a more upmarket feel than a plain plastic finish. Three colours (Lunar Silver, Midnight Blue and Stellar Pink) are on offer.

The big talking point is toughness. The IP69 rating is a higher level of dust and water protection than most phones in this band, and realme also claims military-grade shock resistance. For daily life in India, that means rain, splashes, dust and everyday drops are much less of a worry. A protective case and screen film are supplied in the box, which is a thoughtful touch that saves a further purchase.

Display

The 6.72-inch Full HD+ screen is a clear step up from the HD+ panels found on cheaper phones. Text and images are sharp, and the 120 Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and swiping smooth. Brightness is generous at up to 950 nits, so the screen stays easy to read outdoors in strong sun. It is an LCD panel, so blacks are not as deep as on an AMOLED screen, but for videos, reading and social media it does the job well.

Everyday Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 6400 is a capable mid-range 5G chip. It handles calls, UPI, social media, streaming and everyday multitasking comfortably, and with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, switching between apps is usually smooth. Popular games run at moderate settings, but demanding titles will show their limits, as this is not a gaming-focused chip. Storage is eMMC 5.1, which is slower than newer UFS storage, so app installs and large file copies feel slower than on pricier phones.

Camera

The 50 MP main camera takes good daylight photos with pleasant detail and natural colour. In low light, pictures lose detail and look noisy, and the 2 MP portrait camera adds little beyond depth for portraits. The 8 MP front camera is adequate for video calls and casual selfies. Video goes up to 1080p at 60 fps, which is smooth enough for everyday clips, though there is no 4K option.

Battery Life & Charging

This is the phone's best feature. The 6,000 mAh battery comfortably lasts a full day of heavy use, and lighter use can stretch it further. The 45 W charger in the box brings the phone back to a full charge in a reasonable time, which suits the way Indian users top up between tasks. Few phones at this price pair a battery this big with charging this fast.

Software & Connectivity

The phone runs realme UI 6.0 on Android 15, which is feature-rich with plenty of customisation, though it brings some pre-installed extras. The 5G side is good, with support for both SA and NSA 5G across the main Indian bands, along with Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3. There is no NFC, so tap-to-pay is not possible. The second SIM slot doubles as the memory card slot, so you must choose between two SIMs and extra storage.

The speaker is loud and clear enough for videos and calls, and the phone carries Hi-Res Audio certification for wired listening.

What Buyers Say

Buyers repeatedly praise the battery life, which is the most common point in reviews, along with the value for money, the design and the display. Many call it a dependable all-round phone for the price, and the loud speaker also gets praise. The criticism is just as consistent: the camera is described as average, especially in low light, and some buyers find the performance only ordinary for gaming. A few mention occasional network drops on calls. Overall, most buyers are happy and describe it as a sensible, no-fuss choice.

Features Assessment

The features that matter are well chosen: IP69 protection, a 6,000 mAh battery, 45 W charging, a 120 Hz Full HD+ screen and 5G. What is missing is NFC and a headline camera feature. The phone also adds a case and screen film in the box, so the practical extras are covered.

Ease of Use

Setup is simple and the side fingerprint reader is fast. The interface is feature-rich and may take a little time to settle into, but it is easy to tidy up. The phone is light for its battery size, and one-handed use is manageable for most people.

Value for Money

The 6 GB + 128 GB version is listed at about Rs 12,999 on the main Flipkart listing at the time of writing. At this price, the combination of IP69 protection, a 6,000 mAh battery, 45 W charging and a Full HD+ 120 Hz screen is hard to match. The 8 GB RAM version suits people who keep many apps open, if it can be found in stock. realme's own store marks the phone as discontinued, so availability depends on shop stock, and warranty and service remain with the brand.

Who Should Buy It?

It suits people who want a phone that survives rain, dust and drops, long-battery users, students, and anyone who wants a dependable 5G phone with fast charging at a modest budget.

Who Should Consider Alternatives?

People who want a top camera, an AMOLED screen, NFC payments or serious gaming performance should look at phones in a higher price band. Those who need both two SIMs and a memory card at the same time should also look elsewhere.

Pros

  • IP69 protection rare at this price
  • 6,000 mAh battery lasts a full day
  • 45 W charger supplied in the box

  • Camera only average in low light
  • No NFC for tap payments
  • Hybrid slot forces SIM or card
  • Storage is slower eMMC 5.1

Editorial Verdict

The realme P3x 5G is a practical, tough phone that gets the basics right and adds a few things rivals skip. Its biggest strengths are the 6,000 mAh battery with a 45 W charger included, the bright and smooth Full HD+ 120 Hz screen, and an IP69 rating that is rare at this level. It also brings a case and screen film in the box and works with the main 5G modes in India. The compromises are plain: the camera is only average and loses detail in low light, the chip and slower storage rule out serious gaming, NFC is missing, and the second SIM slot doubles as the memory card slot. realme has also marked the phone as discontinued, so availability depends on shop stock. For people who want a long-lasting, rugged and fast-charging 5G phone for daily use, it remains a very sensible choice. Those who care most about cameras or gaming should look at phones in a higher price band.
