Vlog Combo adds a DJI Mic Mini 2 transmitter, Osmo FrameTap and Osmo Mini Tripod to the camera and Fill Light.

Quick Summary

The Osmo Pocket 4P is DJI's most ambitious pocket gimbal camera yet, and it is made for serious vloggers, travel creators and filmmakers who want cinematic footage from something that fits in a jacket pocket. Its headline change is a second camera: a 60 mm med-tele lens with 3x optical zoom sits alongside a 1-inch wide-angle camera. Add a mechanical 3-axis gimbal, 10-bit D-Log 2 and 4K slow motion at up to 240 fps, and it is a remarkably complete tool. The main compromise is price: at about ₹75,990 for the Standard Combo, it costs as much as a capable interchangeable-lens camera kit.

Design & Build Quality

At 230 g and about 16 cm tall, the Pocket 4P is small enough to carry everywhere, and the second camera sits neatly in the gimbal head without making it awkward to hold. The rotating 2-inch touch screen doubles as a power switch, so you can turn the screen and start shooting almost instantly. The included handle adds a standard 1/4-inch thread for tripods and rigs, which is a practical touch.

This is a precise gimbal device rather than a rugged action camera, so it needs care. The gimbal arm and lenses are exposed, and it should be kept in the supplied pouch when travelling, away from dust, sand and rain.

Image & Video Quality

The 1-inch wide-angle camera uses LOFIC technology for up to 17 stops of dynamic range, and that matters in Indian conditions where bright sky and deep shade often share the same frame. Street scenes at noon, sunsets on the beach and backlit portraits should hold detail in both highlights and shadows far better than a typical phone.

The new 60 mm med-tele camera is the bigger creative step. With an f/1.8 aperture and 3x optical zoom, it produces natural background blur for talking-head vlogs, food shots and portraits, and it lets you frame tighter without walking closer. Ten-bit colour with D-Log 2 gives editors plenty of room for grading, and the 180 Mbps bitrate keeps detail intact.

Slow motion is excellent, with up to 4K at 240 fps on the wide camera and 4K at 200 fps on the med-tele. Photos are strong too, at about 37 MP, with DNG RAW support and an in-camera 4K Live Photo mode for short moving memories.

Stabilisation & Tracking

A real mechanical 3-axis gimbal keeps walking shots, temple corridors and market crowds smooth in a way that electronic stabilisation struggles to match, especially in low light where EIS tends to blur. ActiveTrack 8.0 keeps people, pets, vehicles and other subjects centred, works at any focal length up to 12x zoom, and adds multi-person tracking for group shots. Gesture control lets solo creators start tracking with an open palm and begin recording with a V sign, which is genuinely useful when the camera is on a tripod.

Battery Life & Storage

DJI quotes up to 210 minutes of recording at 1080p, and fast charging reaches 80% in 18 minutes with DJI's 65 W charger. That charger is sold separately, though, which is disappointing at this price. The 103 GB of built-in storage means you can start shooting without a card, and a microSD slot up to 1 TB adds plenty of room for long 4K days. USB 3.1 transfers at up to 800 MB/s make offloading large files quick.

Audio & Connectivity

Three built-in microphones are adequate for ambient sound and close narration, but serious vloggers will want a wireless mic, and the Vlog Combo addresses that with a DJI Mic Mini 2 transmitter. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 handle phone connections and livestreaming, and the camera can also act as a 4K webcam for meetings and streams. Built-in timecode, with drift of under one frame in eight hours, makes it a credible B-camera for multi-camera shoots and weddings.

Features Assessment

The feature set is unusually complete. Motionlapse with four set positions, Hyperlapse, Timelapse, slow-shutter video, Beautify controls and six built-in film tones cover both casual and professional needs. The included Fill Light is handy for evening selfies and indoor vlogs. Optional ND and Black Mist filters extend creative control for those who shoot cinematic footage outdoors.

The trade-offs are narrow. Digital zoom beyond 3x reduces quality, zoom is not available in Slow Motion or Timelapse, and the exposed gimbal is not built to be dropped or mounted on a bike the way an action camera is.

Ease of Use

Beginners can treat the Pocket 4P as a point-and-shoot: rotate the screen, tap record and let the gimbal and tracking do the work. Switching between the 1x and 3x cameras is a single tap or joystick push. Advanced users get manual shutter control, D-Log 2 and timecode. The small 2-inch screen can feel cramped when changing settings outdoors, but its 1,000-nit brightness helps in daylight.

Value for Money

The Standard Combo costs about ₹75,990 and the Vlog Combo about ₹85,990. That is a high price for a pocket camera, and the single-lens Osmo Pocket 4 costs considerably less while sharing many features.

The extra money buys the 60 mm f/1.8 camera, 17-stop dynamic range, D-Log 2 and 4K 240 fps slow motion, which matter most to professional or semi-professional creators. For them, the Vlog Combo is the better buy because it adds a wireless mic transmitter, Osmo FrameTap and a mini tripod. Casual users who mainly film family trips will get most of the benefit from a cheaper Pocket model.

Who Should Buy It?

Full-time vloggers and travel creators who want cinematic footage, portrait-style framing and strong stabilisation from a pocket-sized camera.

Wedding and event videographers looking for a discreet B-camera with timecode, 10-bit Log and long battery life.

Food, fashion and lifestyle creators who need natural background blur from the 60 mm f/1.8 camera.

Who Should Consider Alternatives?

Casual users and families: a cheaper single-lens Pocket model or a good phone gimbal will cover everyday videos for far less.

Riders and adventure sports fans: a waterproof, rugged action camera will survive knocks, rain and handlebar mounting better.

Photographers who want interchangeable lenses and larger sensors: at this price, an entry-level mirrorless kit is worth comparing.

Editorial Verdict

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P raises the pocket gimbal camera from a convenient vlogging tool to a genuinely cinematic one. Its 1-inch wide-angle camera, with up to 17 stops of dynamic range, handles harsh sunlight and mixed lighting with confidence, while the new 60 mm f/1.8 med-tele camera adds natural portraits and 3x optical zoom that earlier Pocket models could not offer. A mechanical 3-axis gimbal, ActiveTrack 8.0, 10-bit D-Log 2, 4K slow motion at up to 240 fps, built-in timecode and 103 GB of storage make it a complete package for creators who want to travel light. The compromises are mostly about cost and care. It is expensive for a pocket camera, the charger is not included, and the exposed gimbal and lenses need protecting from knocks, dust and rain, so it is no substitute for a rugged action camera. Over two or three years, its imaging strengths should keep it relevant for serious creators. ConsumerArena rates it 4.5 because its image quality, stabilisation and features are outstanding, while value holds it back for casual buyers.
