Quick Summary

The Galaxy S25 FE is Samsung's attempt to give flagship-style features to buyers who do not want to pay flagship prices. It pairs a large 6.7-inch 120 Hz AMOLED screen and a versatile triple camera with a 3x telephoto, IP68 protection and seven generations of OS upgrades, all in a slim 190 g body. The Exynos 2400 chip is quick but not the fastest at this money, and charging is only moderately fast. With current prices starting around ₹56,000 for the 128 GB model, it is a well-rounded, long-lasting choice rather than a spec-sheet winner.

Design & Build Quality

This is the thinnest and lightest FE phone Samsung has made, and it shows the moment you pick it up. At 7.4 mm and 190 g, it feels much slimmer than most large-screen phones in its class. The Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both sides give it a premium, solid feel, and the matte Premium Haze finish keeps smudges down.

IP68 sealing is a real advantage in India, covering monsoon rain and accidental dunks, and it is still rare in this price band. The floating camera design and slim bezels make it look closer to the main S25 models than to a budget phone. Colour choice is limited to Navy, Jetblack and White.

Display

The 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen is one of the phone's best features. Colours are rich, blacks are deep, and 120 Hz keeps scrolling smooth. With Vision Booster and a peak brightness of up to 1,900 nits, it stays readable in harsh afternoon sun. Full HD+ resolution is sharp enough for this size, and HDR10+ support makes streaming apps look good. It is an excellent screen for videos, reading and casual gaming.

Performance

The Exynos 2400 is a capable deca-core chip, and with 8 GB of RAM it handles daily tasks, social media, photo editing and most games without fuss. It is not as quick or as cool-running as the Snapdragon 8 Elite in the S25 and S25 Ultra, and demanding games over long sessions will make the phone warm. A larger vapour chamber than the previous FE helps keep that in check. Storage is UFS 3.1, which is slightly slower than the latest standard, though you will rarely notice in daily use.

Camera

The 50 MP main camera with OIS takes pleasing, natural photos in daylight and holds up well indoors, helped by Samsung's ProVisual Engine. The 8 MP telephoto is the key advantage over most rivals at this price: 3x optical zoom makes portraits and distant subjects look far better than digital cropping. The 12 MP ultra-wide is good enough for group shots and landscapes, but it trails the main camera in low light.

Video is a strength, with 4K up to 120 fps and even 8K recording for those who want it. The 12 MP front camera is fixed-focus but records 4K at 60 fps, which suits video calls and vlogging.

Battery Life & Charging

The 4,900 mAh battery gets most users comfortably through a day of mixed use, and the efficient One UI helps standby life. Heavy gaming or long 5G sessions will shorten it, as expected from a large, bright screen. Charging at 45 W is decent, with Samsung quoting up to 65% in 30 minutes, but many Indian rivals charge much faster, and there is no charger in the box. Reverse charging support adds a little flexibility for topping up accessories.

Software & Updates

One UI 8 on Android 16 is polished and practical, and the update promise is the S25 FE's biggest selling point: seven generations of OS upgrades and security support until September 2032. That makes it one of the safest long-term buys in its segment. Galaxy AI tools such as Generative Edit, Audio Eraser, Auto Trim, Circle to Search and Gemini Live add real everyday value, especially for photo and video editing.

Connectivity & Audio

Connectivity is complete for the price: wide 5G band support for Jio and Airtel, dual SIM with eSIM, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC for tap-to-pay, and a fast USB 3.2 port. NavIC support helps navigation in India. Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound full and clear for videos, though there is no headphone jack. The in-display fingerprint reader is quick and convenient.

Features Assessment

The features that matter most are the long update promise, the IP68 rating, the telephoto camera and the bright display, all of which add value over years of use. Samsung DeX, Knox Vault security and the Galaxy AI suite are welcome extras that most phones in this range do not offer. The only real gaps against pricier models are the slower chip, UFS 3.1 storage and a fixed-focus selfie camera.

Ease of Use

Setup is quick, and Smart Switch transfers data from an older Android phone or an iPhone without trouble. Despite the large screen, the thin, light body is comfortable to hold for long periods. One UI is feature-rich, so new users may need a little time to learn it, but everyday tasks are simple. Samsung's wide service network across India adds peace of mind.

Value for Money

At today's best prices, the 8 GB + 128 GB model sells for about ₹55,993, the 8 GB + 256 GB model for about ₹65,999 and the 8 GB + 512 GB model for about ₹77,999. The 256 GB variant is the most sensible pick, because there is no memory card slot and 128 GB fills up quickly with 4K video. At these prices the S25 FE is a solid buy for anyone who values build quality, IP68, a telephoto camera and long software support. Buyers who mainly want raw speed or very fast charging can find better-specified phones for the same money, and the standard Galaxy S25 is worth comparing when it is on offer.

Who Should Buy It?

  • Buyers who want a large, bright AMOLED screen in a slim, light body.
  • People who keep phones for many years and value seven generations of OS upgrades.
  • Users who want a real 3x telephoto camera without paying flagship prices.
  • Anyone who needs dependable IP68 water and dust protection.

Who Should Consider Alternatives?

  • Heavy gamers, who will get more sustained speed from a Snapdragon flagship.
  • Buyers who want very fast charging, who should look at brands offering 80 W or more.
  • Those who prefer a compact phone, who will be happier with the Galaxy S25.

Pros

  • Large 120 Hz AMOLED display, bright and vivid
  • Slim 190 g design with IP68 protection
  • 3x optical telephoto camera, rare at this price
  • Seven OS upgrades, with security support until 2032
  • Galaxy AI editing tools, useful every day
  • Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, full and clear

Cons

  • Exynos 2400 runs warm under heavy load
  • 45 W charging is average, with no charger in the box
  • Fixed-focus selfie camera, no autofocus
  • UFS 3.1 storage and no expandable storage
  • Ultra-wide camera weaker in low light

Editorial Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is a sensible, well-built phone for buyers who want most of the Galaxy S experience at a lower price and plan to keep their phone for years. Its slim, light body, IP68 rating and Gorilla Glass Victus+ make it feel premium and durable, while the 6.7-inch AMOLED screen is bright, smooth and enjoyable for videos and reading. The triple camera, with a genuine 3x telephoto, gives it flexibility most rivals in this range lack, and video recording is strong. Seven generations of OS upgrades and security support until 2032 are its biggest advantage. The compromises are clear. The Exynos 2400 is quick for daily use but warmer and slower than the Snapdragon chips in Samsung's main flagships, charging at 45 W is only average, the selfie camera has fixed focus and storage cannot be expanded. If you value design, display, durability and long software support, the S25 FE is easy to recommend, ideally in the 256 GB version. If gaming speed or very fast charging matters most, look elsewhere.
