Quick Summary
The Google Pixel Watch 4 is Google's previous-generation Wear OS smartwatch, and it remains one of the better choices for Android users who want a polished, good-looking watch with serious health tracking. It combines a bright domed display, dual-frequency GPS, ECG and the Gemini assistant in a comfortable aluminium case. Battery life is its main compromise. In India it is sold in 41 mm and 45 mm sizes at ₹39,900 and ₹43,900.
Design & Build Quality
The Pixel Watch 4 follows the rounded, pebble-like look the series is known for. The housing is recycled aluminium, the glass is custom Gorilla Glass 5, and the soft-touch fluoroelastomer band is comfortable enough to wear overnight. It is just over 12 mm thick, so it is not slim, but the domed shape sits flat and looks smart with both casual and formal clothes.
Two sizes cover a wide range of wrists. The 41 mm weighs around 31 g without the band and the 45 mm around 37 g, and both ship with small and large bands so you can get the fit right straight away. A 5 ATM and IP68 rating makes it comfortable in the rain, in the shower and at the pool. The side button and haptic crown keep controls simple, and the haptics feel crisp.
The India colour range is wide, from Obsidian and Porcelain to Lemongrass and Iris on the 41 mm and Moonstone on the 45 mm.
Display
The Actua 360 AMOLED display is a high point. With up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness it stays easy to read in bright outdoor light, which matters on Indian summer days, and the always-on mode can dim to a single nit so it does not distract at night. At 320 ppi, text and watch faces look sharp. The domed glass wraps neatly to the edge so swipes feel natural, and the 1–60 Hz refresh range balances smoothness and battery use well.
Performance & Software
The Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 chip, 2 GB of RAM and a co-processor for background work are well suited to Wear OS 6. Opening apps, scrolling through notifications and starting a workout should feel quick, and the watch is not weighed down by background tasks. The 32 GB of storage leaves room for apps and offline content.
Gemini is the major software feature: raise your wrist and talk, send quick AI-powered replies, turn voice notes into text and see a Morning Brief with your sleep score, readiness and weather. The watch works with Pixel and most Android phones running Android 11 or newer. It does not support iPhones.
Health & Fitness Tracking
Health tracking is comprehensive. Heart rate, SpO2, skin temperature, breathing rate and heart rate variability are tracked, the ECG app checks for AFib, and a stress score uses heart rate, sleep and activity. Sleep tracking breaks your night into light, deep and REM stages, and a daily readiness view helps you decide when to push and when to rest.
Workouts get dual-frequency GPS for better route tracking in crowded cities and under tree cover, along with cardio load, custom runs and real-time guidance across 50-plus exercises. It is a capable all-round fitness watch but not a rugged multi-day adventure tool. Deeper personalised coaching needs a Google Health Premium membership.
Battery Life & Charging
Google quotes up to 30 hours on the 41 mm and up to 40 hours on the 45 mm with the always-on display, which in practice means charging every night or every other day. Battery Saver stretches that to a couple of days. That is the weakest area of the watch, and rivals from fitness brands last far longer.
Charging is fast. About 15 minutes on the Quick Charge Dock takes the battery to 50%, and a full charge needs around 45 to 60 minutes, so a short top-up in the morning keeps you going.
Connectivity & Calling
Bluetooth 6.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC and Ultra-Wideband are all on board. The India line-up is the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi version, so calls and data rely on your phone being nearby. With the built-in speaker and microphone you can answer calls from your wrist, and it can also control a Google TV Streamer.
Features Assessment
The useful extras are well chosen. Car crash detection, a hard-fall alert and a check-in timer that shares your location with emergency contacts add real peace of mind for solo runs and late commutes. Camera control through the Pixel Camera app is a handy touch, and Gemini help on the wrist is genuinely convenient for quick questions and replies. Most of what makes the watch good is available today without waiting for future updates.
Ease of Use
Setup through the Pixel Watch app is straightforward, and the crown and side button make navigation easy even with wet hands. The interface is familiar to anyone who has used Wear OS, and tiles give quick access to your most-used information. Daily charging is the main habit to build, particularly if you are moving from a fitness band.
Value for Money
At ₹39,900 for the 41 mm and ₹43,900 for the 45 mm, the Pixel Watch 4 is expensive but sits about ₹3,000 below the newer Pixel Watch 5 in the 41 mm size. The newer model brings Wear OS 7 and more storage, but the Pixel Watch 4 shares the same chip family, display brightness, sensors and charging speed. If you do not need the latest software, the older watch is the smarter buy, and the 45 mm is worth it mainly for the bigger screen and longer battery life.
Who Should Buy It?
Android and Pixel phone owners who want a premium smartwatch with excellent health and sleep tracking, a bright display and quick charging will like this watch. It also suits anyone who wants most of the latest Pixel Watch experience for less money.
Who Should Consider Alternatives?
iPhone owners cannot use this watch. People who want several days of battery life should look at fitness-focused watches, and those who want built-in cellular calling will need another model, as the India range is Bluetooth and Wi-Fi only. Buyers who want the newest software and the most storage may prefer the Pixel Watch 5.

Editorial Verdict
The Google Pixel Watch 4 is a strong, well-rounded Wear OS smartwatch that still holds up well against newer rivals. Its domed display is bright and sharp, the health tracking is broad, dual-frequency GPS makes outdoor workouts more reliable, and Gemini on the wrist adds genuine convenience. Fast charging helps hide the most obvious flaw, which is a battery that wants attention every day or two. The two sizes suit most wrists, and the aluminium case with Gorilla Glass and 5 ATM water resistance should cope with daily wear for years, although battery ageing is a normal concern for any smartwatch. The compromises are straightforward: it works only with Android phones, there is no cellular version in the India line-up, and some of the deeper coaching sits behind a paid membership. It also sits at the expensive end of the market. For Android users who want a polished all-day health and fitness companion without paying for the very latest model, it is an easy recommendation. Those who care most about battery life should look at fitness-first brands, and anyone who wants the newest software should consider the Pixel Watch 5. We rate it 4.1 out of 5.
