Quick Summary

The E2425HM, sold on Dell's own store as the Dell Pro 24 Monitor, is a 23.8-inch Full HD IPS display aimed squarely at everyday office and study use. It brings a 100 Hz refresh rate, always-on eye-comfort technology and an ultra-thin-bezel design, but keeps the price low by using a tilt-only stand and leaving out speakers. At about ₹8,549 on Dell's India store it is a no-fuss monitor for people who want a clear, comfortable screen and nothing more.

Design & Build Quality

The E2425HM is a flat, slim-bezel monitor with a compact stand that does not take much desk space. At just 47.7 mm deep without the stand, it is slender, and with the stand it weighs about 3.6 kg, so it is easy to carry between rooms and to mount on a wall. Dell has built it with recycled plastic and recycled glass.

The stand tilts only. There is no height adjustment, swivel or pivot, which is the main thing you give up compared with the speaker version in the same range. If your desk and chair are already at the right height, tilt is enough. If not, a few books or a monitor arm will fix it, and the VESA-compatible mount makes an arm easy to fit. The back also carries a security lock slot.

Display Quality

The panel is a 1920 × 1080 IPS display, which suits the 23.8-inch size well. Text and spreadsheets look sharp enough for daily work, and the wide 178-degree viewing angles mean colours stay steady even if two people look at the screen together. Brightness is rated at 250 nits, which is fine indoors but not ideal near a sunny window, and the anti-glare coating helps with reflections. Colour coverage is 72% NTSC, which is fine for office, browsing and video but not for colour-critical photo editing.

A 100 Hz refresh rate sets it apart from the older 60 Hz monitors still common in offices. Moving windows, scrolling long pages and moving the mouse all feel a little smoother. The 5 ms response time is normal for an office monitor, so this is not a screen for fast competitive gaming.

Eye Comfort

ComfortView Plus is built into the panel and is always active, reducing blue light without making the screen look yellow, and the monitor carries TÜV Rheinland 3-star Eye Comfort certification. For long working days this matters more than most spec-sheet numbers, and it is a good reason to choose a branded panel like this over a no-name budget monitor.

Ports & Connectivity

Connectivity covers three common inputs: one HDMI port, one DisplayPort 1.2 and one VGA port. HDMI and DisplayPort both support Full HD at up to 100 Hz, so you can use the full refresh rate from a modern laptop or desktop, while the VGA port lets you connect older office PCs. There is no USB-C, no USB hub and no headphone jack, and there are no built-in speakers, so you will need your own audio solution.

Dell includes a power cable and a DisplayPort cable in the box, so you can begin using the monitor right away with a desktop or a laptop that has DisplayPort output.

Features Assessment

The feature list is short and sensible: IPS panel, 100 Hz, ComfortView Plus, TÜV certification, VESA mounting and Dell's Display and Peripheral Manager software for arranging windows. There are no gaming extras and no speakers, but for a monitor in this class that is the point. Dell also gives it ENERGY STAR, EPEAT Gold with Climate+ and TCO Certified credentials, which will matter to offices that care about sustainability.

Ease of Use

Setup is simple: attach the stand, plug in the power and video cables and switch on. Dell's Display and Peripheral Manager software adds simple window arrangement through Easy Arrange, which helps on a single large screen.

Value for Money

On Dell's India store the E2425HM is listed at about ₹8,549, while its listing on Flipkart, sold by TBL Online, is a little higher at ₹8,899. For this money you get a clear IPS panel, 100 Hz, a three-year warranty and credible eye-comfort features. If you need height adjustment or speakers, look at the E2425HSM in the same range; if you only need a simple screen, this one covers it.

Who Should Buy It?

Students, home-office workers and small businesses who need a simple 24-inch Full HD IPS monitor for documents, email, video calls and browsing will find it a good fit. It is also suitable for a second screen on a desk or for office setups where many identical monitors are being bought and sustainability certifications matter.

Who Should Consider Alternatives?

Anyone who needs height adjustment, swivel or pivot should look at the E2425HSM or a monitor with a fully adjustable stand. Gamers, photo editors and designers need faster response, adaptive sync or wider colour coverage, and laptop users who want single-cable USB-C charging should look at a USB-C monitor. If you want built-in speakers, this model will not provide them.

Pros

  • Clear Full HD IPS panel with wide viewing angles
  • Smooth 100 Hz refresh rate for office use
  • Always-on ComfortView Plus and TÜV 3-star certification
  • Slim, light design with recycled materials
  • Three-year warranty on the product

Cons

  • Tilt-only stand with no height adjustment
  • No built-in speakers or headphone jack
  • No USB-C input or USB hub
  • Only 250 nits brightness and 72% NTSC colour

Editorial Verdict

The Dell E2425HM is a plain, dependable office monitor that does the basics well. The 23.8-inch Full HD IPS panel is clear for documents and video, the 100 Hz refresh rate gives a smoother feel than older 60 Hz screens, and the always-on ComfortView Plus with TÜV Rheinland 3-star certification suits a full working day. Build quality is neat, with slim bezels, a light body and recycled materials, and the three-year warranty is reassuring. The compromises are clear: a tilt-only stand, no speakers, no USB-C or hub, and modest brightness and colour coverage. It is not meant for gamers, designers or anyone who wants a one-cable laptop setup. For students, home-office users and businesses buying several screens at a time, it is a sensible, low-cost choice. If you value adjustability or speakers, step up to the E2425HSM instead; otherwise this monitor keeps things simple, and covers everyday home and office work well.
