Pensioners’ Life Certificate: Submit Jeevan Pramaan by 30 November 2026

Pensioners can submit the yearly life certificate through Jeevan Pramaan by 30 November 2026 without queuing at a bank. Here are the dates, details and steps.
Pensioners life certificate Jeevan Pramaan due by 30 November 2026

If you or your parents draw a government pension, the yearly proof that the pensioner is alive is due again. The good news is that you no longer have to stand in a queue at the bank. The Jeevan Pramaan digital life certificate can be made at a nearby centre or, with the right device, from home, and all pensioners must complete it by 30 November 2026.

What Is the Deadline for the Life Certificate?

The window depends on age. Pensioners aged 80 years and above could start from 1 October. Pensioners below 80 can submit from 1 November. The last date is 30 November for everyone.

The certificate is a yearly confirmation, sent to the bank, post office or other office that pays your pension, that you are alive. Jeevan Pramaan is the government service that makes this certificate digital, so the paying office can see it online and you do not have to hand over any paper.

Why This Matters to You

The paying office needs this proof to keep your pension flowing. Submitting inside the window helps you avoid a break in payments. For elderly or unwell pensioners, the digital route also saves the travel and waiting that a visit to the bank or pension office would mean.

Families who help a parent with this task will find it easier too. Everything is checked through the pensioner’s Aadhaar-based fingerprint or iris scan, so the certificate does not depend on a signature or a stamp from an officer.

Who Can Use Jeevan Pramaan?

Pensioners of the Central Government, a State Government or any other government organisation can use it, as long as the office that sanctioned their pension has joined the service. A list of such offices is on the official Jeevan Pramaan website.

A pensioner who has taken up a new job or has married again cannot make a digital life certificate. If that applies to you, ask your pension-paying office what it needs from you instead.

How to Get Your Digital Life Certificate

There are two main ways.

  • Visit a Jeevan Pramaan centre. These run at Common Service Centres, banks, post offices, treasuries and government offices. You give your details to the operator and then place your finger on a scanner or your eye in front of an iris scanner.
  • Do it from home. You need the Jeevan Pramaan app on a Windows computer or Android phone, an internet connection and an approved fingerprint or iris scanner connected to the device. Download the app only from the official Jeevan Pramaan website, never from a link sent by a stranger.

What to Keep Ready

Having the details at hand makes the process quick. You will be asked for:

  • Your Aadhaar number, name and mobile number
  • Your pension payment order (PPO) number
  • Your pension account number and bank details
  • The names of the office that sanctioned your pension and the office that pays it

Check every detail before you confirm. Wrong information can lead to the certificate being rejected by your pension-paying office.

What Happens After You Submit

Once your fingerprint or iris is matched with Aadhaar, the certificate is created and you get an SMS with its ID, called the Pramaan ID. You can download a PDF copy from the Jeevan Pramaan website by entering that ID. Your pension-paying office can also see and download it online.

The certificate is not valid for life. It stays valid for the period set by your pension-sanctioning office, and when that period ends you will need a fresh certificate with a new ID.

What You Can Do Right Now

  1. Note the 30 November last date and decide whether you will go to a centre or use the app.
  2. Find a centre near you through the Locate a Centre page on the official website, or send an SMS that starts with JPL, then a space and your pin code, to 7738299899. For example: JPL 110003.
  3. Keep Aadhaar, PPO number and bank details ready.
  4. Save the Pramaan ID from the SMS and check with your bank or post office that the certificate has been accepted.
  5. For help, call the Jeevan Pramaan helpline on 1800 111 555.
